The 2014 Liberty Patriots earned their most successful season in the last decade and first playoff appearance since 2009. The Patriots (9-3, 6-1) proved themselves to be a force throughout the OCC all-season long thanks to their balanced attack on offense and hard-nosed defense. At the end of the season, all of Liberty's losses came to state-ranked playoff squads including their Week 12 loss to the eventual state champion, Lakewood St. Edward. The Patriots held the state-champ Eagles to just 1 yard of offense in the 2nd quarter before the Eagles pulled away in the 4th. Senior RB Nick Durtschi proved himself as the Patriots' main offensive weapon all season, gaining 1,254 yards on the ground and 364 through the air, working his way to 17 total touchdowns behind a talented offensive line led by Indiana commit Hunter Littlejohn.
Liberty Falls Short In Fight with St. Edward, loses 41-12

With one playoff win under its belt Olentangy Liberty played inspired against nationally-ranked Cleveland St. Edward in a D-I Regional Semifinal game. The Patriots trailed 7-6 at the half and took a lead early in the 3rd quarter at 12-7. Unfortunately, that deficit seemed to awaken the Eagles as they fired back with 34 unanswered points en route to the 41-12 win. The Patriots racked up 211 passing yards and 282 total offensive yards in the loss. Liberty completed the season at 9-3 overall.
Liberty Glides to Second Round, Defeats Toledo Whitmer 49-21

After a five year playoff draught, Olentangy Liberty is making some noise again. The Patriots disposed of Toledo Whitmer 49-21 in round one of the D-I playoffs, advancing into week 12. Liberty fell behind 14-7 early, but weren't to be denied, scoring 42 unanswered points to secure the win. The Patriots totaled 318 yards of total offense, with 181 yards in the air and 137 yards on the ground. Liberty moves on to to play #2 seed and state power Lakewood St. Edwards.
Hoak, Slade Lead All-Central District Selections

Dublin Coffman QB Gunnar Hoak and Olentangy DE Connor Slade both claimed Player of the Year honors in the Central District after leading their teams to undefeated regular seasons. Check out the teams (Division I - VII) all selected by a panel of media members.

Liberty Tunes Up For Playoffs With 34-0 Win Over Thomas Worthington

In week 10 Olentangy Liberty spread Thomas Worthington in many directions with their pass and run game on its way to a 34-0 win . The Patriots rushed and passed for 370 total yards in the victory. Completing an 8-2 regular season, Liberty earned its first playoff spot since 2009 and will be the #7 seed hosting #10 seed Whitmer (7-3) in a D-I Region I match-up.
