We have witnessed a lot of fanastic moments so far this season, but none may top the late game drama that took place in week six! Not even rain could ruin last Friday. Big plays, big pressure, and multiple overtimes headline our list of Unreal Highlights this week from across central and southeast Ohio.
In what may turn out to be the game of the year in the Muskingum Valley League, Maysville trailed visiting Sheridan 14-0 at halftime before coming from behind to win in triple overtime 27-24. The comeback secured the Panthers' first 6-0 start to the season in school history.
Elsewhere in the Ohio Capital Conference another instant classic took place, as Westerville South wouldn't go away quietly at Dublin Scioto. The Irish led the Wildcats 42-21 with 4:58 remaining in the 3rd quarter, but South wouldn't be denied eventually forcing overtime. In the extra period, Scioto's Nick Conner scored his 6th TD of the night and the Irish defense finally stopped South when it needed it most, winning 56-49.
Oh, and we can't forget the showdown in Pickerington. North led favored Central throughout most of the game, but the Tigers' late 4th quarter field goal tied the game 23-23. Central prevented the upset loss to ther rivals in overtime scoring the go-ahead touchdown to prevail 30-23.
Other awesome games and great finishes include: Philo edging rival Crooksville in double overtime 14-13, and Heath converting a late two-point play to hold off Newark Catholic 17-16.
Those are just a few of the BEST games from week six, but not all of them. Want to see some great football? Then check out all of our highlights listed below. We promise you will be seriously entertained and if you agree do us a favor and share this with a friend. They will thank you!
