Heath finally got their first win in over three years against rival Newark Catholic with a 45-40 victory to open the 2014/15 campaign. The Green Wave and Bulldogs played a close first half, with only 3 points separating the two teams at the break. Newark Catholic would outscore Heath in the fourth 15-13 but a big three by Payton Booth with minutes remaining and Jackson Kaiser stepping up to take a big charge in one of the Green Waves final possesions would seal the game for the Bulldogs. Bobby Kazar led Heath with 12 points.
