Lakewood Basketball 2015 DVD Trailer June 4, 2015 The 2015 edition of Lakewood boys basketball (16-7, 14-4) gave Lancer fans a welcomed and long-awaited year of success after years of finishing under .500. The Lancers were led by Senior Reece Dupler (Wooster commit) all season long who further extended his lead as the program's career points leader and surpassed the 1,500 points milestone in a late-January win over Licking Valley. Lakewood made a serious run for the LCL title, handing eventual league-champ Johnstown-Monroe their only league loss in mid-January. The Lancers fell unexpectedly in the first round of the tournament to Big Walnut, 55-51. The team graduates 6 seniors (Dupler, Major Henry, Kory Thompson, Dalyn Loomis, Jarred Chorpenning, and Nick Phillips). Lakewood Loses Heartbreaker To Briggs, Fall 62-59 March 9, 2015 Lakewood fell in a heartbreaker to Briggs 62-59 to end their season. The Lancers (16-7, 14-4) led most of the way, but fell behind late in the fourth. After a missed free throw by Briggs (11-11, 4-10), Cameron Downs had a chance to tie it at the buzzer when his three barely missed. Downs had 14 on the night while senior Major Henry had a game-high 19 and Reece Dupler added 16. Maleik Gore led the way for the Bruins with 15.

Big Walnut Knocks off Lakewood, 55-51 March 3, 2015 Lakewood battled back from a 14 point 4th quarter deficit, but the comeback fell short as Big Walnut survived for the 55-51 win. Big Walnut gained control early and held a 38-21 lead at halftime. The Lancers, led by Major Henry with 18, charged back into the game and tied it up late in the fourth quarter. The Eagles hit their free throws in the closing seconds for the 55-51 win.

Lakewood Gets Revenge On Newark Catholic, 56-40 February 25, 2015 Reece Dupler set the tone, scoring 20 points for the Lancers in their win over Newark Catholic, 56-40. The Lancers found their stride in the second half extending their lead to 9 heading into the fourth quarter, too much for the Green Wave to overcome. Lakewood hosts Big Walnut on Saturday, February 28th in the Division II Central District Tournament and will host Briggs on March 2nd for Senior Night.
