Upper Arlington Basketball 2015 DVD Trailer May 26, 2015 The Golden Bears finished the 2014 season as State Runner Ups, and the 2015 Bears looked to build on that success. Upper Arlington (17-6, 12-5) returned six seniors from the State Runner Up team in, Griffin Caldwell, Michael McGovern, Gabe Akins, Austin Heath, Carter Casey and Wynn Brown, and added some talented under classman in Onno Steger and Dane Goodwin in hopes to repeat the success of previous years. After a rocky start for Upper Arlington, 3-3 in their first six games, the Golden Bears finally got a chance against rival Coffman who was ranked in the top five in the state. Upper Arlington jumped out to an early lead and never trailed to hand Coffman their first loss of the season. Unfortunately Upper Arlington's season came to a end in the first round of the playoffs against Groveport Madison but the Golden Bears gained valuable experience and built a foundation for years to come. Golden Bears Season Closes with 44-33 Loss to Groveport March 10, 2015 Upper Arlington's season ended with a 44-33 loss to Groveport-Madison. The Golden Bears came out hot as they took an 11-6 lead at the end of the first, capped off by a buzzer beater by junior Jake Kern. In the second quarter the Cruisers would fight back, trailing only by one at the half, 17-16. In the second half, missed shots and missed opportunities would plague UA as Groveport was able to build 32-22 lead at the end of the third. The Golden Bears couldn?t overcome the deficit as Groveport cruised to the 44-33 victory. Onno Steger led Upper Arlington with 15 points as the Golden Bears finish the season 17-6.

Coffman Claims OCC-Central Title with 54-41 win over Upper Arlington February 23, 2015 Upper Arlington won their first meeting with Coffman 52-47 but the Rocks would flip the script the second time with a commanding 54-41 win to claim the OCC-Central title. Coffman took command of the game early staring with a 5-0 run, then taking a 14-6 lead after the first quarter. Coffman’s defense would stifle the Bears for the rest of the half taking a 27-15 lead into the break on their way to a 54-41 victory. Seth Fuller led Coffman with 16 points and Onno Steger and Gabe Akins each had 11 for Upper Arlington. Coffman finishes the regular season 21-1.

Liberty Knocks Off Upper Arlington, 48-44 February 4, 2015 Down four early in the final quarter, Liberty streaked on a 16-4 run to overtake Upper Arlington for the 48-44 win. The Golden Bears held the Patriots to just 15 first-half points, but Liberty would make adjustments as Brad Smith and Brendon White propelled the blue and white to a strong second half on their way to a 4th straight win. Freshman and Ohio State commit Dane Goodwin had 18 in the loss for Upper Arlington.
