Westerville South Wins First State Championship Over Lima Senior!

In what will become known as the "The Shot" in Westerville, Jordan Humphrey's floater with 1.8 seconds left gave Westerville South its first ever State Championship in a 57-55 win over Lima Senior. The Wildcats led for most of the game over the previously unbeaten Spartans, but a late push tied the game at 55 with seconds remaining. Thats when the senior Humphrey stepped up as he had done all tournament long hitting the game winning shot in front of the 13,457 that filled the Schottenstein Center. Humphrey finished with a game-high 19 points, while Andre Wesson added 14. Lima senior and Ohio's Mr. Basketball Xavier Simpson finished with 17 points and 7 assists. The championship capped a memorable season for Westerville South who fell to Wayne in last year's final.

Westerville South returns to the state championship game after a 87-78 victory over Garfield Heights. Led by Jordan Humphrey's 25 points, the 'Cats defeated the Bulldogs in the state semifinal for the 2nd straight year. They now face Lima Senior for a shot at their first ever State Championship.

Westerville South Takes Down Gahanna, Heads Back to State

Westerville South is heading back to the Final Four after beating Gahanna 68-59 in the Division-I Regional Final. After a close first half, the Wildcats came out firing in the 3rd quarter opening up a double digit lead over the Lions. Despite the much talked about matchup between big men Nick Ward and Kaleb Wesson, it was South wing Jordan Humphrey who stole the show. Humphrey led everyone with 21 points, and did it with style that included a dunk to finish the game off. With the loss, Ward finishes his historic career at Gahanna with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Westerville South will now have a Final Four rematch against Garfield Heights this Friday night.
South Survives Late Scare, Beat Pick Central 78-66 In Regional Semifinal

Westerville South is heading to their second consecutive Regional Final after beating Pickerington Central 78-66 in front of a sellout crowd at Ohio Dominican University. The Wildcats pushed the tempo early racing out to a 31-14 lead. South extended their lead to as much as 24 late in the third, but Pick Central mounted a furious fourth-quarter comeback led by Jalen Tate and Ibi Watson. The Tigers pulled to 55-50 with 4:57 after the run that got the building shaking. However, Central would not get any closer with South handling their foul shots. Michigan bound Watson led all scorers with 27 with Tate (Northern Kentucky) adding 20. Ohio State bound Kaleb Wesson led the Wildcats with 18 points and 15 rebounds while the rest of the starting five all hit double figures. Westerville South now faces the Winner of Gahanna and Upper Arlington in the Regional Final on Saturday.
