COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Undefeated Dublin Coffman continues to be the centerpiece of Central Ohio football this season. In the latest Associated Press High School Football State Rankings, the Rocks are 3rd with four first-place votes. Last week Coffman eclipsed the 50-point plateau for the third time this season with a 52-0 win over Thomas Worthington. It was also their second shutout of the season, as the Rocks are only allowing 7.5 points per game.
Joining Coffman in the top ten is fellow OCC member Westerville Central. The Warhawks (6-0) are now 8th in Division I, following a 31-7 win over visiting Hilliard Bradley last week. WC is off to its best start in school history. Pickerington Central (6-0) is 7th in D-I.
Among the top teams in Division II, Olentangy’s streak of success continued into week six with an easy 45-7 win at Franklin Heights. The Braves (6-0) are now ranked 3rd in the new AP poll with two first-place votes, while still holding the top spot in the OHSAA Region 5 computer point standings.
In Division III, Tri-Valley (6-0) is up two spots to 6th. The Scotties continue to be one of the most dominant teams in Muskingum Valley League history. Last week TV knocked off West Muskingum 48-7 for a record 30th consecutive MVL win. They last lost a league game in 2010 — a 42-14 loss to Sheridan.
In Division IV, Maysville jumped to 11th after a triple overtime win vs. Sheridan last week, 27-24. The Panthers are off to their first 6-0 start in school history.
