History was made for Philo in 2013. For the first-time in 18 years (1995) the Electrics advanced to the playoffs, and for the first-time ever they hosted and won a game in the post season. Highlighted by a week two win over powerhouse Licking Valley (9-1), Philo's senior class also earned this team a shot at an MVL championship, but fell short in a week ten showdown at three-time MVL champion Tri-Valley. No question the 2013 Philo football team will LIVE FOREVER.

Philo Offense Falters, Slips to Indian Valley 7-3

Philo made school history with its first-playoff win this season. Unfortunately, there wouldn't be a second one. Facing a stout Indian Valley defense, the Electrics failed to cross the goal line in a D-IV Regional Semifinal game, losing 7-3 at Meadowbrook HS. Philo scored first and held a 3-0 lead into halftime although Indian Valley would score the game's only TD at the six minute mark of the third. The Electrics wrap up their historic season with a 9-3 record.

As high school football teams from Southeastern Ohio prepared
for the upcoming season, players and coaches gathered at
Cornerstone Full Gospel Church.
That night Eric Thomas delivered a powerful message.
Twelve weeks into the season four of those teams are still alive
in the Ohio High School state Playoffs.
They have created the "magical season" that Eric spoke of. Thank you to all that attended that night.
