Braves Top Cardinals Behind Strong Defensive Showing, 43-7

• Olentangy jumped out to a 22-0 lead and held off the Cardinals in a statement victory moving them to 3-0.
• The Braves' defense stepped up as they forced three turnovers, two of which were interceptions returned for touchdowns (Caleb Gossett and Daniel Kelly). QB Kaden Doup connected with Landon Johnson on a 48-yard strike to begin the scoring and Johnson would run for two more scores in the win.
• Thomas Worthington had Anthony Brewu and Jaydon Harris each with 40+ yards rushing while Reese Dykstra put the Cards on the board with a 5-yard score in the 2nd quarter as the Blue + Red now look ahead to Marysville.
Celtics’ Second-Half Surge Downs Cardinals

• Dublin Jerome broke open a 21-all game in the second half with 35 unanswered points in a 56-21 victory over Thomas Worthington.
• Jaydon Harris, who rushed nine times for 57 yards, tied the game at 21 with a 25-yard TD run after a successful onside kick to start the half for the Cardinals.
• QB Isaac Settles completed 14 passes for 186 yards with two TDs for Thomas Worthington but the tide turned with two interceptions returned for TDs in the 2nd half. Camden Beatty and AJ Long-Lawrence had touchdown receptions in the loss.
Cardinals Lean On ‘D’ To Shut Out Newark, 30-0

• Thomas Worthington held Newark to 119 total yards, five first downs and 1 of 13 on third downs in a 30-0 victory.
• Isaac Settles churned up 174 yards and a score on 15 totes and went 6 of 12 for 50 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the Cardinals’ offense.
• Anthony Brewu had 52 rushing yards with a score and Camden Beatty and A.J. Long-Lawrence caught TD passes in Coach Mike Picetti's first game as a head coach.

First year Head Coach Mike Picetti is hoping for big strides in Cardinal Country for the 2020 season. The former Olentangy and Hilliard Bradley assistant coach and his staff will look to guide Thomas Worthington to their first winning season in just over two decades with plenty of returning talent.
