Gahanna Basketball 2015 DVD Trailer
June 3, 2015
Gahanna (22-4, 13-2) rode a ridiculously talented roster to its 3rd straight 20+ win season and its 2nd straight OCC-Ohio Co-Championship. Easily one of the most exciting teams to watch in the state of Ohio, the Lions gave fans a show thanks to nail-biting wins over Walnut Ridge and rivals Newark and Pickerington Central. Fans were also treated to countless thunderous blocks and dunks courtesy of the towering presences of juniors Matt Moyer (6'8" Syracuse commit) and Nick Ward (6'9" Michigan State commit). Senior guard Jenisys Battle was the heart of the team, coming in clutch numerous times to lead Gahanna to a win. Battle was the only senior who dressed as 6'11" senior forward Alonzo Campbell (Stony Brook commit) was injured for the whole season. The team was rounded out by junior starters Junior Arrey and Warren Yates who excelled in steals and driving to the hoop for tough baskets. The Lions' season ended in a 66-65 District Final loss at the hands of Northland.
This DVD trailer previews the team's full length feature film produced, filmed, and edited by Storied Rivals Sports Media, LLC.
Northland Pulls Off Improbable 66-65 Comeback Win Over Gahanna
March 15, 2015
Down 14 with 2:25 to play, Northland began one of the greatest comebacks in high school basketball history. Gahanna (22-4) was on fire to start, leading the Vikings (20-5) 23-2 early in the 2nd quarter. Northland fought their way back and in the final two minutes would hit five triples to get within 1 point of Gahanna with 19.5 seconds left. After Gahanna made 1 of 2 free throws, Northland's Seth Towns drew a shooting foul from beyond the arc with 4.7 ticks remaining. Towns gave the Vikings their first lead of the game, going 3 for 3 to give Northland a 66-65 advantage. Jenisys Battle was not able to get a successful shot off for Gahanna as the #2 seed fell to their rival in the District Final.
Gahanna Takes Out Chillicothe, 57-44, Moves to District Final
March 13, 2015
Gahanna (#2) outlasted Chillicothe (#24) for the 2nd time this season to take a 57-44 win and advance to their 2nd straight District Final. Chillicothe, led by Tommy Bolte's 21 points, stayed close thanks to 8 made field goals from beyond the arc. However, the Lions' post presence proved to be a key difference maker in the win, led by Syracuse commit Matt Moyer's 16 points. Up two points heading into the final frame, Gahanna busted off a 10-0 run to start the quarter. The Cavaliers were unable to overcome the large deficit as Gahanna claimed the victory. The Lions (22-3) will now face Northland (#7) in the District Final on Saturday, March 14th at 1:30 pm at Ohio Dominican.
Gahanna Stomps Whetstone, 88-49
March 9, 2015
