Newark Advances to District Final Again, Slips Past Rival Zanesville 43-37 March 14, 2015 Rival Zanesville (19-5) pushed Newark (20-5) to the edge in this D-I Central District semifinal, but the Wildcats persevered with the 43-37 come-from-behind win. Senior Jordan Dartis paced Newark with 16 points, while Ramon Wilson's 14 was tops for the Blue Devils. The win pushes the OCC-Ohio Division champs into their 4th straight D-I District Final appearance.

Blue Devils Defeat Hornets, 56-35, Set Up District Final with Newark March 10, 2015 Zanesville (#11) advanced past a pesky Licking Heights (#30) crew, 56-35, to return to the District Semifinals. Both squads played a turnover-heavy first half, but it was the host Blue Devils who had the significant edge in field goal percentage (51% to 31%) that led to the win. Licking Heights pulled within 4 points early in the 2nd half but Zanesville forced and scored off enough turnovers to gain the advantage that led to the 21-point win. The Blue Devils (19-5) will now face rival Newark (19-5) on Wednesday, March 11th with a trip to District Final at stake.

Zanesville Triumphs Over Orange, 57-49 March 3, 2015 #11 Zanesville earned a hard fought victory against 28th ranked Olentangy Orange 57-49. Both teams started off slow but the Blue Devil seniors would step up big to take the game from the pioneers. After a 7-7 first quarter, Zanesville would open the second quarter on a 7-0 run and senior Malik Bocook would close the half with a fadeaway jumper at the buzzer to take a 24-23 lead at half. Senior Spenser Hardwick had 10 points in the game including a 3 at the end of the third to push the Blue Devils lead to 39-34. Orange tried to fight back, getting as close as 44-42 in the fourth but could not stop the Zanesville offense. Bocook had a team high 20 pts. and 12 rebounds and Ramon Wilson added 16 points and 3 steals. Zanesville advances to play Licking Heights on Thursday.

Fourth Quarter Comeback Seals Win for Blue Devils Over Crusaders, 50-47 February 25, 2015 For the first three quarters Zanesville struggled against Canton Central Catholic, but was able to pull out the come from behind victory in the fourth, 50-47 on the Blue Devils’ senior night. Turnovers plagued Zanesville’s first half as the Crusaders took a 25-23 lead at the half. Canton CC led the entire game until 1:16 remained. That's when Malik Bocook scored to give the Blue Devils a 49-47 lead. Zanesville closed the game on a 9-0 run to seal the victory for their 17th win of the season. Bocook had another solid performance leading all scorers with 27 points. Zanesville opens tournament play on Saturday, February 28th at 7pm when they host Olentangy Orange.
