Newark Ousts Zanesville, 67-40, in Tourney Opener

Newark jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back as the Wildcats took down Zanesville 67-40 in tournament action. J.T. Shumate drilled four first-quarter three's for the Wildcats and finished with 14 points. BJ Duling kept the energy going in the second half with an emphatic dunk to put things out of reach for Zanesville. Aronde Myers had 14 points for the Blue Devils. The thirteenth-seeded 'Cats will now host #41 Westland in the next round.
Zanesville Earns Senior Night Win Over Marietta, 76-63

Zanesville made sure they let lone senior Jared Ball walk off his home court for the final time in style, exploding on offense for a 76-63 win over over Marietta. Junior Anthony Williams scored a career-high 33 points, including 6-of-7 from three-point range. The win puts the Blue Devils at 9-13 heading into tourney play against rival Newark.
Blue Devils down Cambridge in Double Overtime, 64-62

Down six with under two minutes to play, Zanesville saved their best play for the game’s biggest moments. Sophomore Aronde Myers hit two late 3s to help send the Blue Devils to overtime, where they would need yet another period to get by Cambridge in double overtime, 64-62. It was Myers who hit the final shot at the buzzer to seal the victory for Zanesville. The sophomore dropped 17 points, while senior KeShawn Underwood poured in 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.
Zanesville's comeback falls short at Lancaster in 60-50 loss

Zanesville’s third quarter surge was enough to pull them within three heading to the fourth quarter, but Lancaster’s efficient shooting and stout defense held the Blue Devils off and gave the Gales a 60-50 win. A 10-0 run to start the second quarter propelled Lancaster to a ten-point halftime lead that they never relinquished. Four players scored in double digits for Zanesville, led by sophomore Aronde’ Myers' 16 points.
Zanesville Tops Rival Rosecrans, 48-41

Despite Rosecrans furious second-half comeback, Zanesville never trailed in its 48-41 win at Rogge Gymnasium. The Blue Devils held the Bishops to nine first half points and hit clutch free throws in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Aronde Myers led Zanesville in scoring with 17 points.
