John Glenn Football 2014 DVD Trailer

Looking to build off a successful 2013 season, John Glenn was unable to make it back to the playoffs. The Muskies (4-6, 3-5) had some close losses in a tough MVL. The season was highlighted with a comeback win over West Muskingham and a win over rival Philo. Seniors Caleb Gaiters, Tanner Morton, Corey Wilson, and Ryan Halasi all had some epic plays throughout the year. It was also the final season for legendary head coach John Kelley, who has led John Glenn the past 20 years. Kelley will be enshrined in the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame this June.

After 20 years roaming the sidelines as the head football coach at John Glenn High School, John Kelley announced his retirement and the conclusion of the 2014 season. The legendary coach took over at JG in 1995, accumulating a 124-83 career record to go with six playoff appearances. In 2001, Kelley guided the Muskies to a regional final appearance. He will be inducted into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in the summer of 2015. Kelley spent 38 years overall as a head coach with four different schools (Shenandoah, Coshocton, Mount Vernon, John Glenn). He won 216 games during that time.

Crooksville Scores 42-36 OT Win Over John Glenn in Kelley's Final Game

In a rainy back and forth game, John Glenn was unable to score in OT as Crooksville escaped with the 42-36 win. John Glenn senior RB Caleb Gaiters finished with 144 yards and four touchdowns as the Muskies finished the year 4-6 overall and 3-5 in the MVL. The game marked the final one for JG head coach John Kelley who previously announced he would retire after 20 years in the maroon and white. He accumulated 124 wins as the JG head coach.
John Glenn Falls in Defensive Struggle to New Lexington 17-14

In what looked to be a shootout in the making, defense ended up being the deciding factor as New Lexington nipped John Glenn 17-14. Both teams scored quickly and were tied 14-14 at half, but a 3rd quarter field goal by New Lexington (5-4, 5-2) was the eventual game-winner for the Panthers. The Muskies only managed 72 yards on the ground and was hindered by 3 turnovers. John Glenn (4-5, 3-4) looks to finish the season strong in week ten when they host Crooksville. It will be head Coach John Kelley's final game on the sideline as he is set to retire after 20 seasons.
