Blue Devils Rout Warriors 46-13 For First Win

• Jordan Martin led the Zanesville attack, rushing for 114 yards and two scores in a 46-13 rout of Watkins Memorial.
• Martin, who had 22 rushing attempts, also recovered a bad punt snap in the end zone for a TD and collected seven tackles to lead the Zanesville defense, which forced four turnovers.
• Jeremiah Miller provided a spark at quarterback for the Blue Devils, completing 9 of 11 attempts for 117 yards and two TDs and rushing for 71 yards, and Casey Cassell grabbed four receptions for 40 yards and a score.
Blue Aces Lean on Defense, Shut Down Blue Devils 15-7

• Granville limited Zanesville to 34 total yards in the second half and Caden McDermott hauled in a deflected ball for the go-ahead TD in the third quarter of a 15-7 victory.
• Carsyn Crouch passed for 184 yards with a TD, Keshawn Bonner caught seven passes for 113 yards and Devon Haley ran 19 times for 61 yards and a score to lead the Blue Aces’ offense in Coach Schroeder's first win with the program.
• Jordan Martin churned up 63 yards on 13 carries and Garret Biedenbach made 11 tackles to highlight the Blue Devils’ effort.
Blue Devils’ Rally Falls Shorts Against Hornets

• The Hornets made just one more play than the Blue Devils on Friday night, handing Zanesville the loss in its Licking County League debut, 27-31.
• Colin McBrayer was 13-23 through the air for 183 yards and 2 TDs. Tristan Banks rushed for 102 yards, averaging 9.3 yards a carry.
• E.J. Ormond also caught a 12-yard TD reception and led the defense with 7 tackles, and Casey Cassell caught four passes for 40 yards for Zanesville.

In their first full-contact action of the summer, the Blue Devils strapped on the pads and went head-to-head in an intra-squad scrimmage. With the season hopefully starting in just two weeks, Zanesville is looking sharp and focused as the offseason comes to a close.
