John Glenn Completes Historic Season, Defeats Akron SVSM 76-72 for D-II State Title

John Glenn made history Saturday by capturing the school's first State Championship with a 76-72 win over powerhouse Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary! Drew Rackley's 25 points and 10 rebounds propelled the Muskies to victory. Seniors Matt Weir and Tanner Slack had 18 and 15 points, respectively. Sophomore Jah Blevins drained two triples in the first half to build the lead and Senior Austin Blatt found himself making the clutch free throws late to secure the win. John Glenn shot an impressive 63% from the field, giving Coach Greg Woodard his first state title in his 21 years of coaching.
John Glenn To Play For State Title! Muskies Crush Bay 84-56

With over 11,000 people in attendance, No. 1 John Glenn was impressive yet again on Thursday night. Playing in their first-ever state semifinal, the Muskies crushed Bay 84-56 to move into the D-II State Championship game! The three-time MVL champs got a combined 48 points from seniors Matt Weir and Drew Rackley to prevail. JG faces Akron SVSM Saturday at 2 p.m. for the state title!

John Glenn takes to The Schott as the #1 ranked team for their first ever State Final Four appearance. This hype video was made as the team prepares for their State Semifinal. After losing in the Elite 8 in 3 of the last 5 seasons, the Muskies (26-1, 14-0) finally broke through with a 70-50 win over DeSales. The victory earns Coach Woodard and his Muskies a date with Bay Village (also making their first appearance at state) on Thursday, March 17th at 8:30. A win then would put them in the State Championship game, facing the winner of Aiken/St. Vincent-St. Mary.
Muskies Make History, Defeat DeSales 70-50 to Reach Final Four

The Muskies are STATE BOUND for the first time in school history! A convincing 70-50 win over DeSales gave John Glenn a Regional Title and earned a trip to the Final Four. The Muskies opened the 1st half on a 7-0 run and the 2nd half on a 9-2 run to gain momentum. Senior Drew Rackley had an impressive 31 points and 9 rebounds (16-17 from the FT line) while Matt Weir and Jah Blevins had 15 and 12 points, respectively. The win gives John Glenn a date with the Bay Rockets in the State Semifinal on Thursday, March 17th at 8:30pm at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus.
John Glenn Wipes Out Vinton County, 73-46, Returns to Regional Final

Once again, John Glenn aced a tournament test in a style — This time a 73-46 throttling of Vinton County that puts the Muskies in the Regional Final. John Glenn’s Drew Rackley scored a game-high 25 points, 19 of which came in the first half, while Matt Weir put together a lengthy stat line of 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. The Muskies face DeSales next, with a trip to the Ohio Division II Final Four on the line.
