Coffman bounces Scioto in tournament opener, 53-39

Scioto repeatedly found themselves within striking distance at Coffman, but could never close the gap before losing 53-39 in their postseason opener. The Irish were led by Jake Wehder’s 12 points and seven rebounds. Coffman’s Seth Fuller led all scorers with 20 points.

Bradley started and finished strong — allowing five and four points to Scioto in the first and fourth quarters, respectively, en route to a 52-36 victory. Isaiah Speelman led Bradley with 16 points, while Scioto’s Brandon Vertolli dropped in a game-high 18.

Marion Harding kept within striking distance in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter, but Scioto’s clutch free throws and defense allowed the Irish to close the game on a 20-10 run en route to a 53-45 win. Brandon Vetolli led the way for Scioto with 16 points.
Irish Use Strong Second Half to Beat Central 66-59

Scioto used a big second half to take down Westerville Central 66-59 and earn the first conference road win for the Irish. Scioto (5-8, 3-5) outscored the Warhawks (5-8, 3-5) 45-35 in the second half led by Brandon Vertolli with 23 points. The senior was also a perfect 10 of 10 from the line hitting some crucial shots in the 4th. Erron James led Central with 22 points.
